Post Birthday day

So I woke up this morning feeling as if I partied like a rock star.  Unfortunate for me, it was a sugar hang over! After cake to many times to count yesterday, I felt blah, Sloan didn't sleep at all and Brent and Brayden couldn't get out of bed.  I forgot to make Braydens lunch, so I took it as an opportunity to walk 5 miles and maybe a bite of icing.  Then I had a bite after dinner tonight. Apparently I missed that little extra fluffy from the cake!

Today was filled with calls, emails and loads of admin. Not the favorite of my job duties but a must. After, Sloan and I headed to the gym for art.  She is not too into the art, but an hour of free play makes for a happy baby. I figured this would give me the 20 minutes i needed to get goodie bags for the ROCKIN PARTY on saturday.  I got 10 minutes and a headache!

I must say there is some politics in goodie bag buying.  You don't want to spend too much on the crap inside but you dont want to give a bag of cheap crap.  Then you have to decide the average age of children you are buying for.  I have discovered over the years when I go to clean out brayden's room, it is the goodie bag toys.  They are missing pieces, broken, smashed, cracked..................... I mean really I am already feeding you and your kids, providing cake and soda, plus renting a facility for your kids to spend an hour or two and now you want a gift from me.  Here comes your bag o crap!!! With that I just realized I forgot to order the cake.

Brayden had a football game tonight.  Sloan and I showed up at the half to cheer on the Cowboys.  They were so cute in their pads and helmets.  I must admit tackle makes me nervous but he really wanted to do it and brent said its time to cut the cord. Every hit and tackle I hold my breathe and cheer like crazy not because of the play but the mer fact my child is not laying dead on the field. Tonight was the first time we had a player get knocked to the ground and not get up. (he landed on the ball and got the wind knocked out of him, he is fine) I thought I was going to jump out of my skin waiting, but I remained calm pacing the sideline until he stood up.  I pray I am not the mom who goes running onto the field, arms flying, screaming every f word and tears pouring from my eyes.   And lets talk about Sloan......She loves a man in uniform.  She said hi to all the players on the sideline with a huge hug and a bent head (she wanted a kiss).  At one point she tried to follow the team to the field, little butt just a wangin!  She even passed dad to check out a player.  You know what I find the funniest, these big tuff 8/9 year olds....just loved on her back.  Sitting on the ground, reading to her, walking the sideline with her, carrying her over the ditch.  I am in trouble later with this, but for now she better eat it up.  We all know it stops with puberty! At that point they will ask us to carry them over the ditch.

Once we got home Brayden informed me I had until tomorrow to donate to his school for the fun run.  And I quote "Mom everyones parents did $5.00, i cant be the only one with no pledge, that would be sad".  So I said fill out the form, online mind you and I will donate $10.00.  Apparently the $3.00 prize was what we were aiming for so $10 was JACKPOT.  He fills out the form and confirms my $10 pledge and jumps up and down about a finger sling shot.  I walk over to read the confirmation and notice I have pledged $10 per lap for a minimum of 20 laps max of 35.  Well much like spelling, i suck with math, but that is average of $300.00.   WHAT?  AND he had his dad for 2xs that amount!!! I had to do a little editing!!! I cant wait to see how many laps he can do in an hour!!! GO B!
