I'm not the mother of the year
I reallythoight last night was the last of my accidents. Apparently not and I wanted to bring Kids along for the ride! So at 7:17am I decided the snooze button was over used, well that and the phone fell off the night stand and I actually had to get up. I ran to get to kids dressed and feed in record time. B has to be walking in the school by 7:40! Made it, lunch and all! Sloan and I hit up Starbuck for a warm cup of coffee and pumpkin bread, yummy! We headed back home to feed fish, dogs and everyother animal in the house! Sloan drove her car back and forth from the kitchen to the living room! She was chatty Katy this morning! Loads of new words in that voc! Button as in belly button and boob seemed to be fun words of the week! It's even funnier that she looks for her button and runs to my boo! One quick nap and lunch we packed up for the gym! Sloan ran in to see her baby friends and before I could put my bags down I heard blood curling screams! Now Sloan has the highest pain tolerance I have ever seen, more so than my own! Do to scream means pain. Calmly I took her into the bathroom to evaluate the damage! One bloody lip, ice and a washed face, we were off to play! She actually had her lip tucked in her month when she hit her face on a rocking boat, so she bot the outside! Oh wait it gets better.... I think she is ok, no bitten tongue or hole in her lip! I feed her lunch, pretzels, baby smoothie, animal crackers, the norm. Got home, got b, headed to football! Where on the way Brayden refused to sign along to Kate perry! I noticed at practice something in sloans mouth, went to get it and noticed her two front teeth were gone... Ok not completely. I needed a dramatic reaction. But pushed up into her gums, holy crap I suck for not noticing. She seems fine with food, bottle, knowing on toys. But looks like we will head to the pediatric tomorrow! I just loved on her all night....duchy mom! Oh and I smashed my finger in the climber and it's platform. Pretty sure it's broken, the snap, swelling and lump kind of give it away! Forgot to go to my dr!

Sunday Funday
We headed out this morning for breakfast! Only because Sloan and I slept until 9:00 and I am 100% sure Brent would have let us slept longer if I had not sat straight up in bed and ask if Sloan was breathing. Ihop was our destination. It was not too busy, we were sat right away. I should have seen this as a sign. Our waitress came right over. Brent must have thrown her off by ordering drinks AND food at the same time. That followed by ordering for Sloan and I, really sent her for a loop. Lets just say our drinks came out after 10 minutes and repeated asking. Sloan had her usual creamers while Brent and I drank our coffee. I'm sure creamer is not healthy but she seems to enjoy it and who wants to upset happy baby while in a restaurant. Brayden ate butter for awhile and he seems fine! So back to the waitress who needs to change career paths. Finally our food came and it was 1/2 correct. She returned to ask if we needed anything.........well yes as she walked away. Brent continued to tell her the list of items that were wrong, until i stopped him by saying shes obviously not listening or standing here. Seeing as we asked for extra napkins upon sitting down and we were with a child who the longer we sat was covered in more of the food than she actually consumed, I thought we would have those. (We got them when she brought the ticket.) Now mind you I did take into consideration she had too many tables. Nope she had 4. One that got their drinks after breakfast came out! Both Brent and I were done waiting on syrup, pancakes, Brent's sausage, packed up and headed out. I really felt someone (me) should let her know it was time for a career change, but instead headed to target!
I spent the rest of the day, cleaning up birthday from Sloan's presents. She had to play with every single thing she got. Which is not a bad thing if you could put what she was done with up. I would pick up she would take down. I finally gave in and just pulled all of her toys out. Then I organized according to what they were! That will never stay the way I put them but I felt productive! And then the injuries occur. I decided to clean up the front and back yard, since Brent was on dog poo pick up. I was moving a chalk board and dropped it. Rather than letting it fall to the ground I tried to catch it with my knee. Then slipped off the step twisting my ankle. Ok so a bruise across my knee, limping into the house to get ice and throw the trash from the front away, I slit my finger open. I pushed the trash into the can and a can of dog food cut the top of my finger. I really did not think it would ever stop bleeding. And no I am not done, I stepped on a toy right in the palm of my foot and slammed my hand in a drawer. im done now!

PARTY PARTY PARTY.
We woke up to the sound of rain, apparently it stormed all night but I missed it. I felt that sugar hangover again. This time with a bit of glassy eyes from the wine. Making cake after cake after cake, I really kind of want to become a cake decorator. I will look into that next week! I had to be at the gym early to train new employees. I stopped at Starbucks for the biggest, doublest iced coffee i could buy. Oops too much, I was wired for the next 3 hours and a bit shakey. After 2 classes, I headed out the door to make the final few minutes of braydens game. I missed it. They even played in the rain and mush which is my favorite of all football games. I am glad I missed it, we had three players get hurt! On a positive Brayden aided in the only touch down we got!!!! Brayden said the boys had fun and thats all that matters.......right?
Shower, feed and rested a bit, we headed to Sloan's birthday party. We had a great time and I did not have to clean up my house afterwards! But here's my issue, so we all know I am always late. Everyone but me was late to Sloan's party. How does that happen? I'm not sure she realized the day was about her, since we are in the gym so much. She ran off to showed off her climbing and falling skills!
All week she has been doing this silly dance where we jump, shake and spin, so I thought she would do it at the gym.........well of course not. The kids played and adults chatted. All the kids rode on the zip line! The big kids tackled and chased each other, while we made sure no one stepped on a little! When it was time for the motorcycle ride, I had Brent bring in the car since it was such a hit. Dax helped push Sloan around while everyone sang Happy Birthday. Sloan clapped for herself! I think this was the point she knew it was all for her.

All the kids sat on the line and the adults came onto the floor! Sloan ate it up, smiling, clapping and squealing! She was the star and knew it! I don't know where she gets that!
We let her mush part of her cake and a cupcake! Whats a little more sugar! I think this time I was cover in more icing than Sloan!
After a quick clean up it was off to play in the bubble storm. The kids loved the bubbles!
The time had finally come to pass out goodie bags. I took my place next to them and started handing out. All was going well until..............A girl took a boy box! I switched them and heard "why is the boy stuff so much better?" It was the same stuff except the boys got sweat bands and the girls bandannas and the boys got footballs and the girls bangle bracelets. Ok really! Then it happened dad came up and asked why the boy boxes were cooler. Oh dear, dear friend, where is your wife. I opened boy boxes and gave his girls the football and sweat bands. IM not going to lie, I wanted to claw his eyes out. Luckily his is a dear friend and I restrained myself. Damn goodie bags.
I have seen this motion before but where was it? Oh I know at our wedding when Brent was giving a long winded Thank you for coming speech at the end of the night, when I had NOT had too much champion! You can reference the wedding album! Now for my favorite birthday moment, other than Sloan mushing the cake! Braydens friend Nick saying to his mom "i LITERALLY have to go to Sloans birthday party" Love that kid! And Dax and Sloan taking the stroller for a walk.
The calm before the storm
I just couldn't find the time to blog yesterday. I was overwhelmed with birthday preparations for a one year old party. I mean really is there that much to do for a one year old party? I think I turned into that mom yesterday. I still feel a like crazy and like a control freak, Im sure I will be fine tomorrow!
So my day was not completely consumed with birthday stuff! I went to cheer Brayden through the fun run at school. He had his dad, Brent and I pledge money for each lap he ran. And to me surprise he RAN all 35 laps! I was very proud. And I must admit those fun run guys were really fun. They would play a song from the 80's and say dance around this lap like yo mama, then disco for the 70's. They even played all the Texas fight songs. To reassure all my Arkansas friends, I don't know the words to any Texas school! Sloan and I danced and cheered!!!
After the run Sloan and I were on earn duty. Not much fun for her, so I stopped by the gym for a 10 free play and to run payroll. Im sure my employees are Thankful for that! We grabbed a quick bit to eat with daddy at our favorite Thai place and headed home for a nap. Well Sloan napped, I put goodie bags together. These goodie bags are the death of me. I finally found the perfect balance of cheap and fun! I left Sloan with dad and ran to get Brayden so he could help pick out a cake. If you remember I forgot to order a cake. We found a cute pink poka dotted cake and the lady wrote happy birthday Sloan. In my need to bake I decided to make cupcakes for the kids. I even bought a decorating icing thing. I baked 20 vanilla cupcakes and put them in the freezer until later to ice.
We had the Lewis's over for dinner, which is always fun! Dax and Sloan played in her new kitchen. They looked so sweet cooking together, until I thought she might hit him over the head with a pan. The moved on to the car. I watch the dads try to put both kids in the seat, then one inside one on top. Finally dads let the kids figure it out. Sloan would push Dax, then Dax would push Sloan. They were too cute.

While the kids played, I iced more cupcakes. After putting my new tool together and experimenting on a plate. I decided to ice the old fashion way, with a knife. The bottle of wine I had combine with chit chat made the cup decorating less than par. I call them drunken cakes! They were really ugly, but tasted great. I ate more than a few, while Shelley ate the icing!!

Post Birthday day
So I woke up this morning feeling as if I partied like a rock star. Unfortunate for me, it was a sugar hang over! After cake to many times to count yesterday, I felt blah, Sloan didn't sleep at all and Brent and Brayden couldn't get out of bed. I forgot to make Braydens lunch, so I took it as an opportunity to walk 5 miles and maybe a bite of icing. Then I had a bite after dinner tonight. Apparently I missed that little extra fluffy from the cake!
Today was filled with calls, emails and loads of admin. Not the favorite of my job duties but a must. After, Sloan and I headed to the gym for art. She is not too into the art, but an hour of free play makes for a happy baby. I figured this would give me the 20 minutes i needed to get goodie bags for the ROCKIN PARTY on saturday. I got 10 minutes and a headache!
I must say there is some politics in goodie bag buying. You don't want to spend too much on the crap inside but you dont want to give a bag of cheap crap. Then you have to decide the average age of children you are buying for. I have discovered over the years when I go to clean out brayden's room, it is the goodie bag toys. They are missing pieces, broken, smashed, cracked..................... I mean really I am already feeding you and your kids, providing cake and soda, plus renting a facility for your kids to spend an hour or two and now you want a gift from me. Here comes your bag o crap!!! With that I just realized I forgot to order the cake.
Brayden had a football game tonight. Sloan and I showed up at the half to cheer on the Cowboys. They were so cute in their pads and helmets. I must admit tackle makes me nervous but he really wanted to do it and brent said its time to cut the cord. Every hit and tackle I hold my breathe and cheer like crazy not because of the play but the mer fact my child is not laying dead on the field. Tonight was the first time we had a player get knocked to the ground and not get up. (he landed on the ball and got the wind knocked out of him, he is fine) I thought I was going to jump out of my skin waiting, but I remained calm pacing the sideline until he stood up. I pray I am not the mom who goes running onto the field, arms flying, screaming every f word and tears pouring from my eyes. And lets talk about Sloan......She loves a man in uniform. She said hi to all the players on the sideline with a huge hug and a bent head (she wanted a kiss). At one point she tried to follow the team to the field, little butt just a wangin! She even passed dad to check out a player. You know what I find the funniest, these big tuff 8/9 year olds....just loved on her back. Sitting on the ground, reading to her, walking the sideline with her, carrying her over the ditch. I am in trouble later with this, but for now she better eat it up. We all know it stops with puberty! At that point they will ask us to carry them over the ditch.
Once we got home Brayden informed me I had until tomorrow to donate to his school for the fun run. And I quote "Mom everyones parents did $5.00, i cant be the only one with no pledge, that would be sad". So I said fill out the form, online mind you and I will donate $10.00. Apparently the $3.00 prize was what we were aiming for so $10 was JACKPOT. He fills out the form and confirms my $10 pledge and jumps up and down about a finger sling shot. I walk over to read the confirmation and notice I have pledged $10 per lap for a minimum of 20 laps max of 35. Well much like spelling, i suck with math, but that is average of $300.00. WHAT? AND he had his dad for 2xs that amount!!! I had to do a little editing!!! I cant wait to see how many laps he can do in an hour!!! GO B!

Sloan's FIRST birthday
September 22, 2010 Sloan is one year old today! I thought I would get everyone up at 630, make breakfast and sing Happy Birthday. Um....that was such a no go! Brayden's alarm did NOT go off, my alarm did NOT go off and Brent didn't wake up early. So we very quickly sang Happy birthday, gave Sloan her Micky Mouse rockin chair and darted out the door.
So, today I decided not to keep my cell close by while at work. And sadly it was the one day I needed it. Doodle went to get Brayden out of school for lunch. To my surprise the 7 papers his dad and I signed allowing one of 5 people to pick up had walked away. They attempted to call me several times and after no success, they let him go. I cant decide if I am glad, annoyed that they lost the papers or fearful my child could just go with someone not on the list. I will keep you posted on my thoughts. After 4 hours at the gym, bouncing, running, sweating and laughing, I headed to lunch with my favorite family.
Could those girls be any sweeter! We chowed on cheesecake factory, Then headed to build a bear. Brayden wanted that to be his gift to Sloan. This was way more fun for B, he built a long horn bear, while Sloan ran from isle to isle taking bear outfits down. She was a natural in the mall, bag thrown over her shoulder, outfit in hand and a walk with more attitude then a high school cheerleader.
Once home, I was back to baking. Four cakes in front of me, two cans of icing and the imagination of me! I arranged and rearranged until one cake finally broke in half and the cake began to stick into the icing. At this point I had eaten one whole piece. I decided to stack, ice and walk away. After the baking it was time to put the kitchen together. The box was as tall as me, the directions seemed simple and I got to use the drill. I placed on my pieces on the floor and began building. 3 hours, a few choice words, some banging and one call to toys r us, the kitchen was complete with phone, microwave and 102 pieces to cook. She loved it! Grandparents arrived, we ate dinner, Aunt and Uncle joined the party.....it was cake time. Sloan dove into my 3 layer pink cake! She licked her fingers and shoved cake into her mouth. Sloan got a pink car from her Aunt and Uncle and a big thanks to Uncle J for putting it together!!! Sloan crawled in the window dukes of hazard style!! She loved it, honking, waving her arms, getting in and out. I am waiting on road rage to set in!!!
Happy Birthday Sloan Willson and Doodle Bug!!!

Hair and cake
So let's talk cakes. I started making cake 1 last night and finished it tonight! It actually looks cute and like it just might taste good! I made a two layer doodle bug! I even dyed the cake and icing red, along with my lips and fingers! Cake number 2 I decided to be a little more daring... Why you ask? Apparently I have nothing eles to do at 10pm! I made to chocolate layers and two vanilla layers....I'm going for ace of cakes Dallas edition! Now I am still trying to decide if I like to bake. I guess if people like the cake, then I like to bake! I'm going to see if a bakery will donate some fondant before I ice the layers! Um not ready to try that on my own!!
This morning seemed to go a little smoother! Brayden and I were up and out in record time! Sloan was a little slower to rise, but after the day yesterday, I say sleep girl! Doodle brought Sloan to class, where as always she showed her dancing/ jumping / spin move! She really has my moves down quit well! About half way through she looked like her head was going to roll off her body!she was so sleepy!
Work was eventful as always! I spent an hour trying to figure out what I should be doing and how to do it!that did not boost well for productivity! I also got my hair did today! I love hair days!! Salon gossip, someone eles making me pretty and the shampoo! I think they should charge double for a shampoo like that! And I cut all my hair off. Much like baking, I think I like it!
I ran to the new toys r us drive through express! I got Sloan a broom, she loves to sweep! Then Brayden pointed out everything we bought Sloan is teaching her those wifely duties! Super! Let's see what birthday adventure tomorrow holds!!

Finally after a year
Finally after a year of saying i will get a blog together, here it is. Now lets get a few things straight before we begin. I can NOT spell. I know this, I also know there is a spell check button. I choose not to use it, 90% of the time it changes my word completely. I also do NOT type in complete sentences, use periods, commas or other correct punctuation. And at time I ramble for no good reason. Once you can get past these few small details, I think you will enjoy reading about the adventures in the GRIS-Willson household!
Today I found myself reflecting on where i was one year ago today.....i was waiting on a hospital bed to open up so I could be induced. I felt like i was on spring break with no hotel room and no chance of getting one. After very impatiently waiting, i was admitted the following day at 10pm. Back to today, Mondays are usually the most event full of the week. Today Brent had to wake up Brayden as I was dead to the world. (Which I learned later this morning Brayden did not get up and Brent told him he was going in his pjs and without brushing his teeth) This could ruin a 3rd graders reputation for weeks. He made it with clothes and clean teeth. Sloan did not get up until 8am, when Brent came home with my coffee!
So a friend of mine ran in 2, yes 2 marathons on Saturday, which made me realize I have got to get my fat butt in gear. I got Sloan into the stroll, Brent got the dogs and out the door we went for a good ole morning walk. Now mind you it is still a blazing 101 here. And did I mention Brent had a triple, (3 shoot) espresso this morning. So we walked about 2.5 miles and then turned to come home. Apparently that much espresso plus heat and fast walking DO NOT mix well. I thought for a brief second Brent was going to pass out or take off on a full sprint home.
Sloan has managed to completely throw me off on her schedule. I think she knows it is her birthday week and she can do whatever she wants. She has decided diapers are for the birds. She takes them off even with her clothes on! Trust me when I say I am watching the toilet. For diapers, i mean. Knowing her she will push a chair over and use the dang thing!! She also decided no nap was the way to go. So for the past 45 minutes she played in her crib, moving the pillow from one side to the other, then the blanket and finally the camera. Yes, i know your now suppose to put a pillow or a blanket in the crib. But you try laying on a bed without a pillow or a blanket....IT SUCKS!
With no nap we headed to the gym to do set up and massive cleaning. She held it together like a champ! Even helped me move the rolling equipment! Now to make birthday cakes!!!!
